Founding TRA Snow Brackets

Hmm, it felt like time to explain a little bit about TRA-MAGE a.k.a. TRA Snow Brackets, you know, basic stuff like who we are and where we come from. So sit back and relax whilst we give you a history lesson…  Then maybe you’ll know who to ask for when you next come into our offices!

Terry Anderson, the owner of Anderson Associates Consulting, founded TRA Snow Brackets. Through his work with Anderson Associates Consulting, Terry began to research a solution to all the common problems he saw caused by sliding snow and ice on roofs. Traveling as far as Europe to find a solution, he studied how they successfully dealt with snow and ice. From their example of using cold roof systems and snow retention devices to keep the snow on their roofs, he came back to the US and designed snow retention devices for all types of roofs, both business and residential.

From there TRA Snow Brackets has had great success with ski resorts such as: Beaver Creek, Colorado, Sun Peaks Canada and Grand Targhee Ski Resort in Alta, Wyoming. Terry has designed every Snow Bracket or Snow Guard with each specific roof type in mind so that everything works at an optimum level. They can be used on both new and older homes and are appropriate for new construction or as retrofit on existing commercial roofs.

 As well as all of the experience and technical ability, TRA Snow Brackets (and by that we mean Terry’s) snow brackets have been tested to a fail point by Brigham Young University's Engineering Department. From these tests, BYU created special charts to determine the number of brackets or guards needed per roofing square based upon the roof pitch and the area's snow load.
